Join The 'Pen Pals' Challenge ...

Every other Friday we will issue a new journaling challenge and post our sample pages on the blog. We'd love to have you join in with us too ... & maybe we'll pick you to be our 'Pen Pal of the Week!'

How you interpret the challenge is up to you, we will mostly create scrapbook pages - but feel free just to journal/blog post ...or maybe adapt the challenge to your art journals, cards & altered art.

Leave a comment on the challenge post with a link to your blog or gallery where we can find your work ... & if you'd like to be considered for the 'Pen Pal of the Week!' Guest Design Spot, be sure to e-mail your entry too!

Jodi's Challenge #2 Entry

Journaling reads:

I love this self-portrait…taken shortly before you turned fourteen. You are an amazing young man! You have such an easy going, good natured spirit about you. You have great character and such a fun, silly sense of humor. When you smile, the world around you lights up, and your giggles can chase away the greatest of storms! Your drive and determination are a great strength that will help you to achieve so much in life. To say that you are hard working , is a vast understatement! I love the fact that you are confident in who you are. You don’t let others change you, or let them determine who you are. As you have entered one of the toughest stages in life, know that I believe in you, I am proud of you, and that I’ll love you forever.

Thanks for sharing this with us Jodi! I love the colour scheme & star embellies ... & as a mum of boys in their late teens/early 20s, I totally 'get' how tough this stage of a boy's life is!! Great job!

Pop back later to see another entry for Challenge #2 ... & if you haven't submitted yours yet, don't forget you have until Thursday. E-mail me a picture of your project ... & don't forget to send in the journaling too ... go on, you know you want to!

Wow, Jodi! This is amazing! And, your journaling is so descriptive ... well, I just want to meet Drew! He sounds like a fabulous young man ... from the perspective of his loving mum!

Your page is awesome! The picture is large ... but the shadowy side of it adds so much drama ... a bit of mystery I think ... and it really draws me in to read the journaling that accompanies it! Love the stars and stitching ... and that deep black 'love' above the photo is a brilliant touch!

Wonderful job with the challenge, Jodi...I hope you'll play again!
